The Product
Every element in your drawings, counted and measured
FOBECON processes the same information a senior QS reads - but across the entire drawing set at once, without fatigue or missed pages.
How It Works
From PDF to bill of quantities in three steps
No templates to configure, no drawing scales to set manually. Upload and FOBECON reads the set.
Upload your PDF drawing set
Drop in your full drawing package: floor plans, elevations, sections, and details. Any standard PDF format is supported, including scanned-and-digitized plans.
AI analyzes the entire drawing set
FOBECON reads every floor plan, elevation, and detail sheet - identifying elements, counting items, and extracting measurements at drawing scale across all pages.
Download your bill of quantities
Get a structured BOQ as Excel (.xlsx), CSV, or formatted PDF with cover sheet - ready for your costing model and bid submission.
Capabilities
What FOBECON reads and extracts
Coverage across the full drawing set, not just selected pages.
All standard drawing types
Floor plans, elevations, building sections, and detail sheets. FOBECON reads each drawing type with context for what element data it contains.
Element type detection
Doors, windows, columns, structural walls, fixtures, stairs, and openings are identified by type and counted per drawing sheet and across the full set.
Measurement precision
Areas, linear lengths, and facade zones are calculated at the drawing's stated scale. Floor areas, wall runs, and slab extents are reported in consistent units.
Structured BOQ output
Output is organized in standard bill of quantities structure by trade section. Column headers and row groupings match common industry BOQ conventions.
Multi-drawing cross-referencing
Elements identified across multiple sheets are reconciled into a single takeoff. Counts from floor plan and elevation are not duplicated - they are resolved into one output line.
Revision delta tracking
Upload a revised drawing set against a prior version and get a delta report: changed counts, revised areas, and newly added or removed elements flagged by type.
Input and Output
What goes in, what comes out
Standard formats on both sides - no proprietary file types required.
Drawing input formats
- Standard PDF - print-quality construction drawings
- Scanned PDF - digitized paper plans at 150 DPI or higher
- Multi-page PDF packages - full drawing sets in one file
- Batch upload - multiple PDFs for a single project
BOQ export formats
- Excel (.xlsx) - structured workbook with trade sections and totals
- CSV - flat export for direct import into estimating systems
- PDF BOQ - formatted document with cover sheet (Professional and Enterprise)
- Custom BOQ template - match your firm's standard format (Enterprise)
Accuracy
How we measure and report accuracy
FOBECON compares its output against manual QS takeoffs on the same drawing sets. We track line-item match rate: the percentage of BOQ line items where FOBECON's count or measurement matches the QS output within a 2% tolerance.
The benchmark covers 50 drawing sets from real construction projects - commercial, residential, and mixed-use. Each set was independently processed by a practising quantity surveyor and by FOBECON, then compared line by line.
FOBECON does not claim to replace engineering judgment on ambiguous drawings. Where a drawing is poorly scanned or uses non-standard notation, output confidence is flagged. Transparency about limitation is built into the output format.
Against manual QS takeoff on the same drawing sets, measured at a 2% tolerance per line item.
